Scuba-diving / Tioman Sept'13 / Project Aware

Weekend spent at my almost-second home, Tioman again for a marine conservation trip. It's the first time I've encountered such horrendous weather. On the night of arrival, the storm was so bad that we all had run for our lives from the jetty to the resort, which is at least 500m btw. But of course, the wet weather plan (sleeping) was still good.

Sea turtle on the rise (with Darren behind its ass)

The aim of this trip was to clear up the rubbish and debris and also to eliminate crown-of-thorns from the sea, but being the noobies that we are, we only found 2 c.o.t. out of the 18 for the entire trip :'( But 'twas still a new experience trying to spot c.o.t. hidden beneath corals, digging them out into the net and burying them on shore.

Scuba-diving / Tioman July'13

Last weekend at Tioman (again, but I never get sick of it) was a remedy for my beaten soul from the past week of cramming chapters worth of info within a night for a test and rushing to meet project deadlines. This was much needed.

Everything about the trip was hilarious, from Darren T's horrendous sleeping habits (he slept on a Ramly burger without realising), Grant's naiveness, Nic's frantic reactions when Daren K threw pineapples to her when she was in the sea 'cause schools of fishes came charging towards her, and Anita's adorable British accent.

Also, I finally accomplished the two things I've been yearning to do for the past few trips but did not get the chance to.
1. Jump off the boat from the second tier (took me so much freakin' courage)
2. Hitch a ride from a random motor-cart

P.s. Ramly burger auntie is pregnant again. Swear her babies are unlimited, just like her Ramly burgers. Lulz.

Scuba-Diving / Tioman Mar'13 (AOW)

Pardon my post-diving fever, but this was the best dive trip ever. Period.

For the millionth and tenth time, we saw a school of black-tip riff sharks, swam close up to turtles and a huge-ass moray eel. Deep dive felt so dreamy, like you're in the middle of a 30m-long tunnel and you can't see the start nor the end of it. Night dive, too, felt so surreal. Our vision was compounded within a radius of a mere metre around our torches and a shark could sneak up on us without us even realising.

With the optimal current and weather, paired together with splendid company from Dive360, other fellow scuba-divers and definitely my dearest Joanne and Darren, I deem the sun burn worthy.

Scuba-Diving / Tioman Jun'12

Feels good to be home, but I miss Tioman and the sea already.
One more round in September before I leave for Shanghai, please.
