Enchanté

The Connoisseur Concerto:
Ocean Sur'fin / Mentaiko Crab Baton Spaghetti / Cocoa L'amore / Hazel Bella

Dad's back from Brunei, and so is my appetite.

First French lesson with Ericia today. Really hesitant to admit this (because she's gonna grow all cocky about it), but I see more and more good in this girl as the days pass. I couldn't give two fucks if others don't see it, but she's beautiful just the way she is and I intend to keep her :')

Dome Cafe:
Braised Orange Chicken Thigh / Gourmet Pie (Red Wine Beef) / The Lot Burger / Beef Lasgne

Did I mention that my appetite's back?

You could be happy.

First day of school.

They say a minimum of 4 hugs a day helps to pull you through the hours. Met some of the Phoenixes for lunch this afternoon and that alone earned me more than enough hugs. Not forgetting, the hug from this morning when Josh walked over to pass me souvenirs from Germany and another hug in the evening when I bumped into Gab at the bus stop. It was kinda awkward, considering the fact that we never really spoke in real life before, but it was cute.

Things that made me happy: Home-cooked meals / Gifts from Alex (Murano Glass Necklace) and Josh (Ritter Sport Chocolates and Pig & Farmer Keychain which Josh claims to represent him holding me) / The smile that makes me smile (in the most platonic way).

I've never felt this happy in a long time, even though iHoroscope forecasted a bad day for me. Guess it's a bad day ended well. Speaking of "bad day ended well", I stole that line from JJ's twitter, heheh. And I think he'd read this, so I just wanna say: Hi peabrain. I'm damn glad we're still friends. (:

Oh, and just an update, I'm still in BBoy. Today's practice was fun. I learnt a couple of footworks, The Six Steps and Crazy Commando today. I'm aching all over but I don't intend to quit just yet.

Cast the sheep out of your mind, count the wolves and we'll sleep tonight.

Tuesday:
Study sesh with JJ and Lum at Parkway, where we bumped into Chong and he invited us over to his place. Instead of studying, we ended up fooling around with his teardrop-shaped cushion and watching Criminal Minds and Bones.

Left at around 6-ish to meet Stella at Tampines for dinner. Pizzasluts4lyfe ^^v

Wednesday:
Just another typical project day at Auggie's crib, except with a gastronomical home-cooked lunch, my obsession with Auggie's stuffed toys, and an OOTD photoshoot, followed by the Beer Market with the rest of Ad Infinitum.

Thursday:
The entire afternoon saw Trisha and I (ok maybe just me) squealing at cheap thrills ~ First it was my pair of T-bar sandals that was going for only $10, then it was the $1 Cheeseburger and the $2 McBites. Other than that, I'm more than satisfied with the rest of my loots as well, like the sleeveless denim shirt that I've been looking for for so long and an envelope-inspired satchel. Darren joined in for awhile as well before we parted ways.

Took a trip back home to put down my loots before heading out again to meet Joelle, Fel, Jiaying, Kunjie, Xuanhao and Junpeng for dinner; main meal at Kungfu Paradise (ikr) and dessert at Buttercake & Cream. Reminisced through the night about our young and stupid days and boy do I miss being young and stupid. Feel so thankful for this meet-up :')

Friday:
Casual lunch with Zul, Bert and Taiming at Nando's (and I had to go all the way to Siglap just to fetch Bert, pshhhhk). They studied while I hunted for my new pair of earpieces because my pair of a-Jays spoilt and I can't find the warranty. Decided to try out a new brand, O'Neill - The Specked. Doesn't look physically appealing but what caught my eyes were the specks and the gold rims. The bass is heavy which is an extreme plus point though.

---

This holiday has been all about catching up; Catching up with ol' friends and catching up with my breath. But, for the things that have happened lately, it's been breathtaking. I can't decide if my breath's still with me or out there somewhere in the atmosphere of air.

Viva la vida.

Thoughts aside, here's an extract of what I've been up to:

Thursday:
Impromptu plan to meet at the airport for the JC kids to study and the Poly kids to laze the day away. Jj, Lum, Jian Hao and I left Aston's before Joel could reach to find us and his phone battery died so we kinda panicked when he wasn't in sight for almost half an hour already. We were so close to paging for him over the announcement system, but thank god he was smart enough to charge his phone via his laptop to contact us. That was Mi Lu Bing as its best :') Afterwhich, we caught 'Prometheus' at i12 Katong. It's a really sucky film btw. Other than the high-definition graphics and effects, the storyline was proved senseless and the gory factor could probably beat that of 'Saw''s, even though I absolutely fancy 'Saw'.

Friday:
Back to work at Sushi Tei after a good three months of missing in action. Same ol' people, same ol' practice, but I've never really figured out why I'm always as timid as a mouse when it comes to the first day of work after a long break away from it. Probably gonna return to my working-after-school routine to supplement my depleting bank account and to lighten my parents' burden. It's become a habit to dislike dependency on my parents to pay for my daily neccesities, what more heftier fees like my school fees. Money isn't easy to earn and money definitely doesn't drop from the sky. I've never felt like this was truer than ever before.

Saturday:
Pre-Father's day brunch at Cedele on a typical laid-back Saturday.

Sunday:
Father's day eclairs for the midnight surprise and a Happy Father's Day song played on the recorder, guitar and the iPad piano app. Happy Father's Day, dad. You're a silent hero, but you're still a hero.

Oh, and of course, the hearty breakfast that Mom always equip us weekend warriors with, except that it was exceptionally hearty on the special day.

Monday:
Project work with Dream Team at the Esplanade. This addiction of being armoured in smart, formal wear is starting to kick in. Heheh.

Left early for Father's day / Dad's birthday dinner at Tony Roma's. Lovin' my Onion Loaf as always, and of course, liquor to toast for the double special occasions. Dad bought us macarons from Bakerzin (well, technically we bought it, but he was obliged to pay for it HAHAH), even though it was supposed to the other way round.

Look at all those sinful treats, so effortlessly downed into my tummy within a mere span of week. This is why I can never go on a diet.

Bite the lip, just forget the bleeding.

"I really admire you. You don't seem to give a care about anything at all."

Hah. Says who I don't give a care about anything at all? In fact, I could care about the slightest matters ever to the most ridiculous extent. Don't be deceived by my nonchalant disposition. To have to adopt a feigned, sanguine outlook to life just shows how grim it is.

"The trick, William Potter, is not minding that it hurts." - Lawrence of Arabia (1962)

I need people who walk in my shoes. I need people to tell me to do what I want to do, not what to do. I need people who understand the fragility of glass, to handle it with care. I need people who push me to spread my wings and fly, not clamp them down in the name of "concern".

Doesn't it kill you to unveil the harsh truth, that you've never actually truly belonged anywhere? I dare not say I belong there, but I'm more than sure that I do not belong here.

I can't hate you anymore.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if people appeared as bokeh of lights? Sure, it would, but one day you'd realise that the lack of clarity itches you to dig your eyeballs out in hope to trade 'em for another pair, because you'd die to see what people really are than to be deluded by their dainty, shimmering coatings.

When will my faith in humanity cease to diminish?

I went to a wishing well, I sank to the ocean floor.

Girls sleepover at Esther's.

Went grocery shopping at Parkway before we headed to Esther's place to start whipping up our own dinner. Housewives in the making, oh yeaaaaah. (^_^)v

Time swooped by in Esther's room when we talked while digesting our food. Decided to get out of the house to Geylang for some durians and coconuts in the middle of the night before we started our apparent movie marathon which wasn't exactly a movie marathon after all 'cause we only managed to cover Friends With Benefits. Mehhhh, but the film was good.

Grew pretty listless after awhile so I crashed right after I touched the bed while the girls carried on with their ramblings. It was exhausting trying to keep up with the conversation while my eyes struggled to fight gravity.

Woke up at 9ish and rolled around in bed till 2ish 'cause we had to wait for Esther to wake up. Settled with our leftovers for our breakfast, which technically, was our lunch, before we left for home

Can't wait to do this again. Sometimes, girlfriends are the only ones who understand.

Dinner at Everything With Fries and dessert at Marble Slab Creamery with Raynor, Felicia and Xuan Hao. Missing my 2E homies pretty terribly. It's been so, so long.

But, things happen.

It still stings me each time I recall, regardless of how calm and collected I may always seem to be.
Why'd you do that, babe? I need to hear your say.
