Ciao pao 2012

From last year:

"Resolutions:
- Stop screwing things up
Still screwing things up but I guess this will stay permanent on the list

- Grow a brain (Yanzhou said that right)
I need YZ to judge this LOL

- Independence
Somewhat?! I try not to rely on my classmates on what I miss out when I used to doze off in lectures/tutorials

- Cut down on my profanities, it's honestly getting out of hand T-T
Mmm.. I tried

- Less -vity, more +vity
Not really

- All out for a GPA that's high enough to make my mama proud
Almost there

- Learn to say "no"
Almost there

- To live by ''You just need 20 seconds of courage, and everything else will go on smoothly.''
YES for the Waterbom rides when I was in Bali

- And "If you want me in your life, put me there. I shouldn't have to fight for a spot."
Yes

Things to do:
- Train myself to down a McSpicy burger without drinking anything in between LOL
I accomplished this but I returned home with an upset tummy so my next goal would be to maintain a normal tummy

- Try out bak kut teh (I'm serious I've never tried it before)
Not yet. What am I doing?! This is the easiest task to complete.

- Apply for my advanced scuba-diving license
Time forbade me to

- Windsurf / Wakeboard
Not yet :'(

- Master my ukulele (and perhaps buy myself a new proper one, heh)
Bought a new one but yet to learn the chords

- Learn how to cook (I already know how to fry an egg!)
Does whipping up a decent bowl of Aglio Olio and frying pancakes count?"

I barely even fulfilled half of the tasks I set myself to do. Boy am I lousy... but hey I tried.

Highlights of the year:

The year started off with a lot of Ad Infinitum action. First it was Darren's birthday at Cuscaden where I felt so happy seeing him happy, or in fact, all of us happy together. Then came Ad Infinitum: Genting Edition ft. Chris and Sicong, before that romantic spark begun between Ericia and Sicong. A moment of our mischief led to an unexpected happily-ever-after. Our jaunts to Cuscaden and our new hangout place, Beer Market, turned frequent as the months flew by.

At a point of time, we split up into halves and Dream Team formed a significant presence in my life. The workload was tiresome but we pulled through, somehow. When the semester ended, Dream Team disbanded, but it was not before long when OIP Shanghai approached.

OIP Shanghai split us even further apart but I wouldn't say I left with any regrets. In Shanghai, I've lost heftily, but for that, I've gained on another side. All I can say is that I'm truly grateful for my girls and Esther. Oh and there's a special someone I want to list out, and that's Xinxian. Thank you for letting me in and bearing with all my insecurities.

Other than that of my Poly life, there was something else magical - Phenomenal Phoenix. It's but an orientation camp if you'd like to see it that way, but it was one that changed my life. Think I'm exaggerating? I'm not. Weeks after weeks, we had to return to school for the preparation despite it being the holidays. The skit, the dances, the props - They slowly started developing with our sweat and effort, and before we knew it, it was the day we all anticipated. BAOC was more of a journey that taught us how to lead and share, than just a camp.

At another parcel of my Poly life, I joined Handball and Bboy for a change. Sports/dance CCAs were never my thing, but I had the urge to push my boundaries. Even though I didn't remain committed for long, Bboy was still an unforgettable experience. At least I can safely say I "left" the club with a move to impress. But of course, it's not just Handball and Bboy. Can't forget my main CCA, Scuba Diving. This year was my first attempt as camp chief and hell it isn't easy to organise a camp. The camp was short-lived and not exactly very coordinated, I would admit, but we all had fun with Running Man.

Then there was a TK Band Camp. It was an impromptu decision when Jannah called me up to ask if I'd like to join in. Hajar, Azkhairy and Damien were there too. Many memories were relived that night despite our fatigue. We then looked forward to 7th April for SYF Outdoor 2012, when TK Band clinched Gold With Honours at the Indoor Stadium. There and then, my heart was bursting with pride.

By the time December approached, the bonds amongst Jux Keydings were rekindled and I'd have never expected us to go overseas for a vacation together. After the JC kids were done and over with their A's, The Bali Dream fell into place. Again, ephemeral, but equally as magical.

Not forgetting, my favourite bunch of 2D boys. They will always be there, no matter how many years have passed and no matter how far our paths have strayed from each other.

Now, back to the root of it all - Family. I've been such a devoted daughter/sister this year and I pretty much like being one. Here's to the best mom, best dad and best sisters in the entire universe :*

Most insignificantly yet most worthy of a mention, I thank Blink 182 for their release of Neighbourhoods and Dogs Eating Dogs. They've held me up through the darkest troughs not just for this year, but since primary 5. Tom, Mark and Travis will always be a part of my childhood.

Looking forward to end 2012 with a bang with the 2E homies later on ;)

Wana

Recently, I've been having the strongest urge to pick my pen up and I see a tsunami of inspiration charging towards me.

Also, I've been having odd dreams like me yearning over the company of a yeti named Wana, me being pulled by Hajar to "join the other team because they're taking a cab", me hailing a cab by the Clarke Quay river before the cab fucking drove into the river like it's a Hippo bus, me conversing with a stranger about how this Chinese fed his child with raw chicken, me bumping into Joel and Lum at a train station and me being guarded by Josh and Darryl on a train ride to nowhere. Team Bali were in the dream too. We were exiting "our" kampong before the train station scenes all started. As if the content isn't absurd and bizarre enough, it freaks me out how I'm able to recall each scene of the dream so intricately. Pass me a pen and trust me, I can sketch out a portrait of how Wana looks like.... and I plan to do just that because, I mean, wow this is a record for the weirdest dream I've set.

Santa baby

From last night:

Tried out some snowflakes nail art but I failed terribly... At a quarter after 2, my sister called to report that she was stuck at Orchard with no public transport so Dad and I were obliged to pick her up, which gave me the opportunity to finally get out of the house for some fresh air and wear my reindeer ears. I love night rides! Heheh.

Anyhoo, it's Christmas today! Not that I did anything interesting..... I stayed home all day watching tv programmes (I saw my qtpie Choi Min Ho on MAMA qtpie ^^) and re-painting my nails.

This Christmas was spent with my family again. Last year I baked cookies with le sisters and I kinda miss baking / wrapping presents for my friends but... this year the Santa Claus in me decided to hibernate. Nevertheless, I can't stop raving on about how good my Christmas eve dinner was as shown in the previous post. My mom is such a talented cook, but what happened to me?!

Hearty home-cooked lunch

Dinner at Baci / My fellow reindeer sister Vanessa / Waffles for breakfast this morning

This was how I spent my Christmas! How about you?

Deck 'em halls

It's Christmas eve.

Everyone's decking their halls, carolling down the streets, roasting turkeys, ripping present wrappers and what not. But here I am, snugly tucked in my black roller chair, facing the screen I face almost everyday....

LOL jk my mom decided to turn the day around. She allowed me to deck the door/gate with ornaments from Daiso and she just put a bacon-wrapped chicken into the oven because a turkey's too big for my oven. So adorbz.

My love for fried onion is indescribable. I think I consumed almost 1kg of dat shit today.

Anxiously waiting for the grand arrival of le chicken

Mixed potatoes with bacan bits

Salad appetizer

AND DINNER IS SERVED

Not forgetting the champagne...

Merry x'mas y'all ~*.~*.~
