A zoo isn't a zoo without Ah Meng

Today, Harvind left for Australia.
They say you never know how much one means to you until he's gone, and it's true.

Our connection began paper thin and our conversations were kept minimal, until that night at the chalet. Something told me it was all right to go ahead and open up. That night, I looked at you as a brand new Harvind; no more the ah meng I knew from the zoo of a class we were. For the record, you were capable of of making me sinfully nod my head to every "insult" you cast upon me, but you were also capable of helping me stride through the sixth degree of separation.

So, thank you for reconnecting me to the ones I've once lost.
Thank you for being a faithful listening ear.
And thank you for keeping my secrets.

When you walked away, I felt a little more bitter than I thought I'd be.

Running Man EP5

I think I've never posted about this before, but here's what I do every Saturday:

Today was Running Man EP5 (a combination of the Mblaq & Sistar episode + the 007 episode).

Our mission was to search for a secret footage hidden in MJC (it's written as VJC in the picture but we changed venue). First round of mini games was the challenge of sorting out the poker cards by symbol but the actual meaning behind the game was a distraction for me so that I wouldn't realise that the rest of them have been pasting stickers on my back throughout the game 'cause if I realised, they would all lose to me. Even though I won the sort-the-poker-cards game, I didn't suspect a thing about the stickers throughout the game so I lost a lottery ticket to everyone else WHAT IN THE WORLD I FEEL SO CHEATED??!! Well played la guys.

After that I was teamed up with Hajar, Charlene and Taiming for the spray water challenge and the bring-your-enemy's-bottle-back-to-homebase challenge before we proceeded to the individual find-clues-to-piece-up-a-jigsaw-puzzle to find the secret code to unlock the access to the secret footage. I was eliminated by the Deathnote by random and it was such a waste 'cause I had 3/10 clues with me :'( But anyway the eventual survivors were Hajar and Charlene and Bertrand was a double agent/ spy.

Also we had Pizza Hut to reward ourselves after the tiresome game and Hajar, Taiming, Jianhao and I camped there for 4h just talking and talking about everything and anything. We seriously need a 24/7 hangout area so we can chat through the night again next time.

I think I could go on forever about what else happened and how much fun I had but..... I'm tired and you probably don't know what I'm talking about so, ta. x

P.s. Saturday is now officially my favourite day of the week. TGIS.

BANG!

OOTD entry #4 / Shrimp & Mushroom Curry Baked Rice from Mr. Curry / Express Mocha cookie from Cookies for Sid / BANG!

The past consecutive weeks have been so packed with school work that I had to decline Jiaying for dinner twice/thrice, but today I finally had the chance to ask her out with the rest of the 2E guys too. I never knew what the big hoo-ha about BANG! was (because the 2E guys would meet every single day just to play that game) until I learnt how to play it. It's like Murderer, except there's more to it, so all the analytical thinking keeps you addicted. But anyway we had some good curry dishes at Mr. Curry (after discussing about where to eat for like an hour zzz) and really yummy cookies from Cookies for Sid too. The rest of the entire night was spent at the Esplanade floor playing BANG! HAHAHAH.

Camera shy

The Swee Choon date was foiled 'cause it totally slipped our minds that it's closed on Tuesdays. Nevertheless, Trisha and I went ahead with our shopping plan and boy am I happy with my loots. I feel like I've been deprived from retail therapy for waaaaay toooo loooonnngggg. Later on, Sally, Naomi, Nicole and piggy Bryan joined us as special guests for our #ootd photoshoot, HAHAH. And it ended off with a satisfying buffet dinner at Kiseki + bitching session at Scape. Honestly, it's been one of the most fulfilling nights in a long time :-)

Eden / Hail

(my tumblr-worthy photo of Trisha hailing a cab)

30-Days OOTD Challenge, leggo

I love how we non-hesitantly dropped off at Botanic Gardens, walked over to a random stretch of private houses and hanged around the railings / fences, all just for an impromptu shoot. Being chased away by the security guard has got to be the climatic part.

Thank god it's Friday.
Thank god for you.

Brick by boring brick

My jar of 2013 will consist of daily OOTDs, cafe adventures, after-school lepak sessions, tonning at Starbucks like we're design students, going crazy with our hair, and basically just raising our middle fingers up to whatever may come. Oh and maybe lingering around the bricky areas too, just so I'd stand a higher chance of catching teddybear's attention ;)

Awkz reunion

Fries overload
Chocolate overload
Bad throat

but

Witty company
Hilarious moments
Nostalgic memories

Can't believe it's been 6 years since we met (with exceptions for some whom I still contact frequently). Hanyan can't remember who Jabez is at all and Glen isn't convinced that Hanyan was from our class, LOL. The awkwardness when we all first gathered outside i12 was hilaaaarious. All of our faces displayed nothing but puzzlement and shock. Then there was silence for a while. Then Winfred's chattiness pierced through all the cumbersome barriers. A leopard never changes its spots, indeed.

And Jon really needs to create twitter. Can't believe we used to talk over the phone for up till 8h per day back then. I would almost consider him as my primary school BFF.

Project Juliet Oscar Echo Lima

I especially like the picture in the middle row, extreme left. Such a happy smile ^^

After school, I went to look for Sha at Buona Vista first before we headed to town for some shopping + last minute present hunting. This boy has buffed up by quite a bit over the past two months from the last time I met him. I almost couldn't recognise him from afar. *inserts Home Alone emoji*

We camped at Lowry's Farm for a while and bought a striped sweater for Joel while Sha found himself a linen shirt in a perfect shade of mustard. Couldn't stop emphasizing on how much rose gold appeals to me when we jumped around the few watch shops and he was slightly influenced, heheh. Sha would make a splendid shopping partner.

Later on, we met the rest of the boys for dinner at Manhattan Fish Market to celebrate Joel's birthday. I invited Weeheng to tag along too so it was like a 2D + Sarah reunion LOL.

I don't know how we ended up at Liang Court twice after contemplating for a quarter hour whether to enter Beer Market or not. But they fled behind my back for a game of mi lu bing while I was browsing the hello kitty fishcakes at the supermarket. I admit, I'm too old and lazy for mi lu bing anymore because running is just out of my dictionary for now.

Anyway, that's one birthday down in the gang. I wonder who's next ;)

So c'mon love, draw your swords; Shoot me to the ground

Love-hate relationship with the Indie genre.
Must be the earl grey.

(The face in the last video is creepy I know)

---

It's 2.22am yay

Last evening JJ and I dined at our old workplace with some others and my Toto virginity has been stolen. The counter lady was hostile as fuck; she barked at me because I didn't understand what System 7 and Ordinary meant :'(

N'way I've been working on my marketing assignment on Sticky candies lately. Honestly I've not touched Photoshop in ages and my skills have turned rusty; but not entirely. All this rekindled Photoshop action is making me more than thrilled for Marcomm in year 3.

Also I'm now halfway through my pile of uncompleted tutorials but I've lost all concentration.

Meh.

As you can see, I'm the narrator most of the times all the time.

Count your blessings.

At last, my week is starting to not suck. I've been so caught up being bothered by this and that that it slipped my mind to count my blessings. Yes, I forgot to mention that that's part of my new year resolutions - to count my blessings.

Bumped into Bryan and Kris at the BA Open House last Tuesday. Such smart-looking boys ^^. Bryan joined us for lunch at Sakae Sushi together with Edmund and the girls too. I honestly can't wait for next next Tuesday for some retail therapy with Trish before some Swee Choon with the Phoenixes.

After that I met the 2E homies to have some skewers for dinner at BBQ Box. Not knowing what they ordered, I unintentionally swallowed down a chicken heart (yes, its heart) and some pig intestines. Idk what else inhumane ended up in my stomach but I sure didn't like the idea of the fried quail up there. Sigh, they say I'm a rotten child when it comes to food and I guess you could say so :/

Yesterday was our AAA presentation - also the first presentation in eons - and I'm so relieved we're done and over with it. Phewwww, one more to go and that's it for the semester!

Today, the 'O' level results were released. No comments on how my sister fared but I'm so proud of Gab. Totally forgot that he took his papers this year too until he whatsapped me a ss of his results. This boy has been waiting for me to ask him about it but I didn't, HAHAH. Having a really amusing conversation with him over whatsapp now like we used to. He really has a knack for making me smile/laugh.

The trick

The trick is not to peel the entire prawn shell off at one go,
but to do it without having to use your fingers

like how it's not to muster up the courage to confess a mistake,
but to do so without hurting a soul

My week has been so emotional that even a bowl of prawn mee can set me into such deep thoughts. What in the world.

Why like this leh

I am such an asswipe
And so is my heart

This is why Karma should slam my face against the wall
Like it just did

Honestly, it's been the longest of time since I've felt so clogged up in my head; also, the first time I've written a post on the other side since a year ago.

Melodramatic fools

Oh, hi. Kunjie invited us over to his place today and Shafiq cooked us some "mommy's special recipe" curry chicken for dinner. The view from Kj's apartment is amazing and his puppy Cookie is as adorable as ever.

--------

Why is it always that Friend A likes Friend B, but Friend B likes Friend C, and Friend A and C always happen to be the best of friends and somehow I'd eventually end up as an intermediary?! And does it make sense that I've been somewhat duped by Friend B to forgive an unatonable sin that Friend C committed, just because she likes him? I was starting to wonder why Friend B had been shielding Friend C so firmly and I see it all makes sense now.

I can't even-

FRIEND B WHAT ARE YOU DOING

Bonjour 2013

The only reason why my babygirls weren't highlighted in the previous post was because if they were, they would be so neon that it'd blind you. Whether it's the last minute of 2012 or the first minute of 2013, they were stuck beside me like glue. This goes out to Fel and Joelle, the besties of mai laife ♡

Sadly we didn't take any photos :( But this is all I've got:

Joelle and I met for dinner at Maxwell Food Centre before meeting Fel and the 2E boys + Weeheng. Couldn't decide on a place to camp at so we ended up roaming around in the drizzle and struggling to avoid the mud puddles. Ended up at the same ol' Flyer spot, where we were last year.

The event there was sooooo bad. I wouldn't even consider it as a countdown event because.... there was no countdown. Now tell me which DJ asks the crowd if they're ready for a countdown when it's already been ten seconds past midnight? I'll tell you which: The one at the Flyer. Whoever you are, thanks for spoiling my perfect picture of actually yelling the numbers while awaiting for the fireworks to light up. Urrrrgh, can't even handle this absurdity. And I'm not even done with ranting about the crowd yet. 99.9999% were Yen-users (inside joke) and the rest had ridiculously stiff bodies.

Refused to kick-start 2013 with such a horrible countdown party so I psycho-ed Joelle to stayover at Raynor's place with me and the rest. Played Monopoly (and owned the game) and watched the boys play Fifa through the night while Joelle died off halfway. We only mustered enough strength to pull our lazy asses out of the house at 0830 for breakfast nearby.

Something I really look forward to for the next few weeks/months would be more dinner dates with this bunch, especially when Joelle starts work at Dover and the poly kids from SP start school.

What a jolly night!
